Helldivers 2 has been withdrawn from sale on Steam in over 170 countries, including regions where PSN account registration is not possible, such as CIS countries.
Arrowhead Game Studios and Sony have yet to address the situation, but they have previously indicated their support for players. Refunds for Helldivers 2 have been initiated on Steam, regardless of playtime. Some players have already received refunds after playing for extensive hours, citing Sony’s changes to the game and legal agreements as reasons.
Amidst the controversy surrounding the requirement of a PSN account link, Helldivers 2 garnered over 115,000 negative reviews in just two days, setting a new Steam record. Sony is reportedly working on a solution for players in regions without access to PSN. It remains unclear whether the game’s removal from sale in these areas is permanent or temporary.
