The specifications for the new PlayStation 5 Pro have been leaked, but it seems that fans are not particularly impressed. It has become quite common for consoles to undergo a mid-generation update, as was the case with the PlayStation 4 Pro and the Xbox One X in the last generation, both of which received various enhancements to improve performance and visual quality.
Insider Gaming has revealed the specs for the PlayStation 5 Pro, comparing them to those of the standard PlayStation 5. Additionally, previous reports from PC Gamer mentioned a GPU with specific features, which were also listed by Insider Gaming.
Similar to the previous mid-generation update for the PlayStation 5, Insider Gaming reports that the PlayStation 5 Pro will include a detachable disc drive and a 1TB SSD.
While the leaked GPU specs may seem too good to be true for a mid-generation release, fans are underwhelmed by one key aspect of Insider Gaming’s report. Users PMS Jordan and Dream Walker expressed disappointment with the CPU specs, with the former describing it as “depressing news” and the latter questioning its ability to run upcoming games like Grand Theft Auto 6 at 60FPS.
