Evernote shifts focus to Europe following significant downsizing of US workforce


Evernote has laid off the majority of its workforce. Bending Spoons, the Milan-based app developer that acquired the company last November, announced on Friday that it had let go of almost all of Evernote’s employees in the US and Chile. Bending Spoons intends to relocate most of the company’s remaining operations to Europe. This round of layoffs comes less than six months after the firm eliminated 129 positions at Evernote due to the app’s lack of profitability over the years. The exact number of employees affected by this latest round of layoffs was not disclosed by Bending Spoons. A review of LinkedIn profiles reveals that some software engineers who had been with Evernote for several years lost their jobs on Friday.
