Elon Musk has announced that the first human patient has successfully received a Neuralink brain implant and is currently recovering. Neuralink, a company focused on developing brain-computer interfaces (BCI), has been given the green light by the FDA to conduct its first clinical trial. The trial is open to individuals with quadriplegia due to cervical spinal cord injury or amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). The primary objective of the BCI is to enable people to control a computer cursor or keyboard using their thoughts alone.
