eBay, the latest tech giant to be affected by the economy, has announced a reduction of around 1,000 jobs, which is approximately 9 percent of its full-time workforce. US employees have been instructed to work from home on January 24, and those impacted will receive notification soon. Unlike Discord and Riot Games, eBay did not provide details on severance or benefits. The company also plans to decrease the number of contractors in the coming months.
eBay’s downsizing is on par with that of Unity and Google earlier this month, indicating a challenging start to the tech industry in 2024.
