Dushanbe Raises Concerns with Russia Regarding Tajik Citizens’ Rights Abuses

Tajikistan has officially ⁢raised ⁢concerns with the Russian ambassador, Semyon Grigoryev, regarding the mistreatment of its ⁤citizens and violations ‍of their rights. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan expressed deep worry over the increasing cases⁣ of discrimination against Tajik citizens in Russia, including unjustified entry denials.

Following a terrorist attack at “Crocus City Hall,” Tajik migrants in Russia have been subjected to heightened nationalism and xenophobia. This has led to a climate⁣ of fear among migrants, with⁤ taxi drivers facing aggression and individuals with expired documents being deported at their own expense.

In response to these issues, the⁣ Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan advised‍ its citizens to avoid traveling to Russia temporarily. Additionally, a proposed federal law in Russia aims to tighten control over foreign citizens residing in the country.
