Deadly Israeli Strikes Claim 26 Lives in Gaza on New Year’s Day

On New Year’s Day, Israeli airstrikes in Gaza resulted in the tragic deaths of 26 Palestinians, including innocent children. The heavy⁢ rain caused flooding in⁢ makeshift shelters for displaced⁣ people⁢ across the Strip.

The attacks took place in various locations such as Jabalia, Bureij refugee camp, Gaza City,⁢ and Khan Younis.​ Among the casualties were four ​children and‌ one ⁢woman. Additionally, 10 Palestinians are missing and feared⁤ to⁢ be trapped under‍ debris.

In a heartbreaking incident in Jabalia​ town, 15 people lost their lives while more than 20 sustained injuries when a ⁢house where displaced individuals were residing was bombed. The aftermath left body ‍parts⁤ scattered around ‍with no clear reason for targeting civilians.

Tragedy struck again as a woman and ⁢child were⁢ killed‍ in‌ Bureij refugee camp overnight. In Shujaiya neighbourhood‌ of ⁢Gaza⁤ City, six members of the ⁣al-Suweirki ⁣family perished‌ due to an ‍airstrike on their home.

The civil ⁤defence⁣ agency struggled ⁤to respond promptly to distress calls amid relentless⁣ Israeli bombardment over ⁤recent days.⁢ Citizens living under⁣ siege face dire circumstances with limited access to basic necessities.
