Convenience store robbed with a Nintendo ‘Duck Hunt’ gun, suspect claims.

According to York County deputies, a man from South Carolina has been arrested for robbing a convenience store while armed with a Nintendo light gun that was primarily used in the 1980s to play games like Duck Hunt, Hogan’s Alley, and Gumshoe. The 25-year-old suspect allegedly stole 0 in cash while wearing a mask, wig, hoodie sweatshirt, and the aforementioned Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) Zapper gun accessory.

The suspect reportedly pointed the fake gun at a clerk and demanded money from the cash register. He was later found by authorities in a Dollar General parking lot with the fake pistol in his pants. The original 1984 accessory is famously bright orange and gray, but authorities say the suspect spray-painted it black to make it resemble a functional firearm. The York County Sheriff’s Department shared an image of the modified gaming accessory on its Twitter account.
