According to The Verge, Microsoft’s Bing Chat is no longer exclusive to the Edge browser and is now being rolled out to Chrome and Safari. A Microsoft spokesperson stated, “We are currently testing Bing Chat in Safari and Chrome with select users. Once our access-bing-chat-with-openai-technology.html” title=”Chrome and Safari users can now access Bing Chat with OpenAI technology”>standard testing procedures are complete, we will expand access to even more users.”
It appears that this is more than just a small test, as several users (including myself on Chrome but not Safari) have already gained access. However, there are a few limitations. Users must be logged into their Microsoft account, and prompts are limited to 2,000 characters instead of 4,000 on Edge. Additionally, conversations reset after five queries instead of 30, and there is a constant prompt to download Edge (typical Microsoft).
