While Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo, along with their players, are actively involved in console wars, Capcom has clearly defined its position on this issue. The Japanese publisher, behind iconic game series such as Resident Evil, Street Fighter, Devil May Cry, Monster Hunter, Dragon’s Dogma, and other projects, simply isn’t interested in participating in internal conflicts. Capcom has long chosen PC as its main platform.
The chief operating officer of Capcom, Haruhiro Tsujimoto, made this unexpected statement. In an interview with Bloomberg, he noted that the company prefers PC among platforms. In his opinion, it is the most convenient and pragmatic platform for both players and developers themselves. Capcom’s management chose PC versions of its games as the main direction in development several years ago.
Despite the preference for PC, Capcom remains an open company for new platforms and formats. As Tsujimoto noted, they strive to expand the accessibility of their game library, which is why we saw the announcement of Resident Evil: Village and Resident Evil 4 for iPhone 15. The company hopes that this will open up additional gaming opportunities for gamers, but the priority still remains with PC.
