Zach Wood, the President of the newly established gaming division Blumhouse Games, recently unveiled the company’s ambitious plans for the future. He also hinted at the timeline for releasing game adaptations of their popular horror movies.
Known for producing hit horror films like “Paranormal Activity” and ”Get Out”, Blumhouse Productions expanded its horizons by launching Blumhouse Games in winter 2023.
During the Summer Game Fest 2024, the company announced its initial lineup of upcoming projects:
- The Simulation by Playmestudio.
- Project C by Half Mermaid.
- SLEEP AWAKE by EYES OUT.
- Grave Seasons by Perfect Garbage.
- Crisol: Theater of Idols by Vermila.
- Console versions of Fear the Spotlight by Cozy Game Pals.
Looking ahead, Blumhouse Games aims to release three games in 2025, followed by three more in 2026, with two additional titles planned for 2027.
While considering potential game adaptations of their movie franchises due to the large fan base, the studio will prioritize launching original IP games. This means that fans may have to wait until at least 2027 for a survival horror game based on “M3GAN”.
Furthermore, the President of Blumhouse Games mentioned that the studio is not actively seeking game projects for future film adaptations, although this possibility remains open for the future.
