Developers from Bethesda recently participated in a Q&A session, revealing some exciting new details about Starfield. Bethesda had kept quiet about the game until the Starfield Direct that followed Xbox’s Summer showcase, where players experienced an incredibly in-depth look at the game. The developer Q&A continued the spirit of the conference, and it’s great to hear more about the game directly from the source, especially with the launch date so soon. If players were skeptical before, the new details revealed in the Q&A are pretty enticing and will get eager fans even more excited to dive into Starfield.
Will Shen and Emil Pagliarulo, who are Starfield’s Lead Quest Designer and Lead Designer, respectively, took to Discord to answer fan questions about the upcoming game. The session covered a variety of topics, such as role-playing features, game mechanics, and lore. The devs also clarified some previously misunderstood aspects, such as confirming that the mechs seen in the recent animated trailers will not be usable in-game and that several options are available for pacifist players. Still, they offered plenty of new tidbits that make Starfield seem like a highly promising experience.

However, titles like Fallout 3 had only one player home and an additional residence added with DLC. Fallout 4 was similar in this regard, but allowed players to build their own settlements, which is a creative trade-off. It’s great to know that Starfield will have both custom outposts, as shown in the Starfield Direct, and housing in the game’s cities.
The scope of Bethesda’s games has grown with each new title, and Starfield is set to continue that trend with tons of questlines. When asked about their favorite parts of the game, both developers stated that they loved finding the content they hadn’t seen yet or quests they had forgotten about over the course of development.
