The countdown to days without layoffs has been reset once again. This time, the unfortunate news comes from Behavior Interactive, where up to 95 employees are set to be let go.
The majority of these layoffs will impact specialists based in the Montreal office, with nearly 70 positions on the line. The management at Behavior Interactive has been transparent about their decision, citing intense market competition as the driving force behind the layoffs, a consequence of the industry’s rapid expansion in recent years.
Just half a decade ago, Behavior Interactive boasted a workforce of 575 individuals, a number that has since swelled to 1300 employees. Notable projects from the studio include titles like Silent Hill: Ascension, Meet Your Maker, Halo Wars: Definitive Edition, and various mobile games.
Assuring fans, the management at Behavior Interactive has clarified that the layoffs will not impact their flagship game – Dead by Daylight. Furthermore, the company intends to shift their focus towards horror and other core strengths of their business.
Coinciding with the announcement of the layoffs is the introduction of a new chapter in DBD, featuring the addition of the iconic villain, Vekna.
