Digital Foundry conducted a technical analysis of Baldur’s Gate 3, and in this case, the game by Larian Studios seems to have impressed. In fact, the technical specialists determined the game to be solid and well-executed: an example for many “AAA” PC products.
In fact, although the technologies used by the development team mainly belong to previous generation platforms, their use appears surprisingly effective compared to the end result, which is also confirmed as very convincing in terms of animation and interaction.
While awaiting a major update promised by Larian Studios, there are some uncertainties related to Vulkan libraries that arise in certain configurations, but currently it is enough to bypass this specific client and choose the DirectX 11 version to solve the issues.
In short, it is better to run the game in DirectX 11 and enjoy the graphics capabilities introduced by the developers, also with the aim of improving performance, with support for DLSS, although currently FSR 2 is missing (only FSR 1 is present) and Intel XeSS technology.
Overall, as mentioned before, the level of polish and refinement with which the game presented itself at official launch is impressive, especially considering the numerous “unfortunate incidents” witnessed by PC players lately.
