An Exodus Commences as U.S. Withdraws Diplomats from Sudan

The evacuation of foreign officials and citizens from Sudan’s capital city began with a helicopter rescue of American diplomats just after midnight on Sunday. As the battle raged around them, an elite team of Navy SEALs at the United States Embassy in Khartoum helped evacuate up to 90 people onto aircraft before taking off for Djibouti, 800 miles away.
