Nintendo has officially revealed some of the amiibo bonuses players can get when they use supported figures with The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom capped off the latest Nintendo Direct presentation with a gameplay trailer that showed some of the new features fans can look forward to once the highly-anticipated game arrives a little later this year.
Besides showing a new Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom gameplay trailer, Nintendo also revealed some other details about the game. It unveiled the Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Collector’s Edition, confirmed that the game will cost $70 instead of the usual $60, and revealed a new Link amiibo figure based on the hero’s appearance in the new game. The new Tears of the Kingdom Link amiibo will give players a special paraglider, and the same can be said for other Zelda franchise amiibo that have been released over the years.
Shortly after dropping the new Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom gameplay trailer at the Nintendo Direct, Nintendo revealed the different gliders that players can get with amiibo. The Link (Rider) amiibo based on his appearance in Breath of the Wild will give the glider a darker design, whereas the Zelda & Loftwing amiibo based on Skyward Sword gives the glider a makeover reminiscent of that game. The most visually-striking glider comes from using the Majora’s Mask Link amiibo, which makes Link’s glider look like the titular Majora’s Mask.
The glider makeovers are likely reason enough for hardcore Zelda fans to seek out more amiibo figures for their collection, but the amiibo will offer some other bonuses as well. While Nintendo stopped short of getting into specifics, it also confirmed that these amiibo will give Tears of the Kingdom players helpful items and weapons. It’s possible these other bonuses will be detailed prior to the game’s launch in May, but it’s also possible fans will have to wait for the Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom release date to roll around to find out exactly what all the amiibo figures can do.
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom launches May 12, exclusively for the Nintendo Switch.

Nintendo announced that players can use Amiibo when they play the game to unlock special gliders that can be used during their playthrough. These gliders offer fun new ways to explore the game’s sprawling kingdom and unlock new items.
Players can find Amiibo of their favorite character from the game, as well as Link and other characters from the series. Upon inserting an Amiibo, the player will receive one of three unique gliders worked into the game’s various levels.
These gliders offer more freedom of movement and exploration, allowing players to traverse the kingdom in new ways. Additionally, players can unlock a variety of bonuses and other items if they find all three gliders.
The new Amiibo for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom will be released in the near future. Fans of the series are sure to be excited for the new way to experience the game and explore the kingdom. With the gliders and other items being unlocked by using Amiibo, players will have plenty of exciting new ways to experience the game.
