Al Jazeera Investigation: Evidence of Deliberate Targeting of WCK Convoy by Israeli Forces

An investigation conducted by Al Jazeera’s Sanad Verification Agency has revealed that⁣ the Israeli army’s deliberate attacks resulted in the deaths‌ of seven individuals in a‍ World Central Kitchen⁤ (WCK) aid convoy.

Journalists reported an Israeli shelling targeting a vehicle on Rashid Street in ‍the central Gaza Strip, resulting in casualties. This account was confirmed by a ⁢displaced individual interviewed by Al Jazeera, who reported multiple bombings between 11:00 and 11:30pm‍ (20:00 – 20:30 GMT).

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu⁣ acknowledged⁤ that the attack was carried out by Israeli forces, stating that they had “unintentionally [hit] innocent people ‌in the Gaza Strip … it happens in war.”

The Sanad investigation concluded that the attacks were intentional, based on⁣ open-source information, witness testimonies,⁣ and images from the site, which were used to construct a chronological and geographical timeline of the events.

WCK⁤ workers had ‌been leaving the Deir el-Balah warehouse after delivering 100 tonnes of food aid when the convoy was hit, despite coordinating ⁤movements⁣ with the Israeli army, according to a statement by WCK.

The shelling targeted three vehicles belonging to WCK,‍ killing⁣ seven ⁣relief workers of various nationalities, including a Palestinian driver, Saif Abu Taha, from ‍Rafah.
