“The sad thing is that there is a lot of nice work going on in the field but this [controversy] has taken so much attention,” says Boeri from the Sapienza University of Rome.
To further establish the scientific credibility of their claims, scientists are now working on new methods to identify superconductivity, debating the standards that should be met before claiming to have achieved superconductivity, and discussing new norms for data sharing.
