The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) Chair, Lina Khan, is scheduled to meet with representatives from Amazon (AMZN) next week. This meeting could potentially be the final face-to-face interaction between the two parties before the commission files an antitrust lawsuit against the e-commerce giant.
At the age of 32, Khan assumed the role of FTC Chair in 2021 and has since made it her mission to challenge Big Tech. She has taken on major players in the industry, including Facebook parent company Meta (META) and Microsoft (MSFT), resulting in significant lawsuits.
However, not all of these lawsuits have been successful, leading to criticism in Washington and doubts about Khan’s strategy, with some speculating that she intentionally loses cases to prompt Congress to change antitrust laws.
