The Paris Paralympics kick off with a spectacular opening ceremony in the heart of the French capital, marking the beginning of 11 days of thrilling competition.
Similar to the Olympics’ opening ceremony along the Seine in July, this event is held outside the main stadium for the first time in Paralympics history.
Under clear skies, contrasting the rainy start of the Olympics, the games commence at Place de la Concorde with French President Emmanuel Macron in attendance.
