Meta is currently experimenting with a fresh approach to increase engagement on Threads through Instagram. The company is testing a new feature that allows users to share photos from Instagram to Threads. This experiment was confirmed by Meta after a few Threads users spotted the option in Instagram (initially reported by TechCrunch).
Users have the choice to cross-post from Instagram to Threads, with the option to automatically share all new photo posts to their Threads account. Those involved in the test can adjust cross-posting settings within the Instagram app.
To enhance the growth of Threads, which currently boasts 150 million users, Meta has been testing various features. The company has explored cross-posting from Facebook to Threads, as well as promoting Threads posts directly in Facebook and Instagram feeds, regardless of app usage. Additionally, creators are being encouraged to increase their activity on the app, with Meta offering bonuses in return.
