The civil defamation case ‍filed by writer E Jean ⁢Carroll against former US President Donald Trump has been delayed ⁣due to a sick juror, postponing Trump’s expected testimony.

US District ⁣Judge⁤ Lewis Kaplan announced that one‍ of the jurors reported feeling unwell and was sent home, causing⁢ the postponement.

Trump’s lawyer, Alina Habba, also revealed that at least one of her parents has COVID-19,⁢ and she experienced fever symptoms after having dinner with them a few days ago.

Both Habba and her co-counsel, ⁤Michael Madaio, tested negative for COVID-19 on Monday.

Following the announcement of the trial’s postponement, Habba requested a delay in Trump’s testimony until Wednesday⁤ due to ⁣the New Hampshire Republican ‌primary on Tuesday.

Judge ‌Kaplan did not immediately ⁣make a decision⁣ regarding the timing of Trump’s testimony.
