Shaid Jamaldaev has assumed the role of the new chairman of the ⁤Chechen parliament, taking over from Magomed Daudov, who‌ stepped down from his position on May 15. Ramzan Kadyrov announced the appointment of Jamaldaev, a close associate of the first President⁤ of the ‌Chechen Republic, Akhmat-Hadji⁣ Kadyrov, in⁤ his Telegram channel.

Prior to his new role, Jamaldaev served as⁤ the ​deputy chairman of the ‍parliament.⁣ Daudov,⁤ who led the ⁣Chechen parliament for nearly a decade, made ‍the decision to resign and explore other opportunities.

According to Jamaldaev’s biography on ⁤the ‍”United‍ Russia” website, he is ‌69 years old. He has held various⁣ positions in⁣ Chechnya, including head of ​the administration⁣ of Grozny district, assistant to the head of Chechnya, and minister of national‌ policy, external relations, press, and‌ information. Jamaldaev was elected ​as a deputy of​ the ‌Chechen parliament in 2016 and later became the deputy speaker.
