Recent reports from Moscow indicate that military investigators and officers from the East Administrative District Police Department carried out a targeted operation. Dozens of migrants who had been granted Russian citizenship were issued summonses to report to the military enlistment office for registration. This development was first brought to light by “Kommersant”.
The operation, as detailed in the report, was conducted at various locations including the bus station near the “Shchelkovskaya” metro station, a vegetable base, and several hostels in the Eastern Administrative District.
Authorities in Russia, including the Ministry of Internal Affairs, routinely organize such operations in areas where migrants reside or work. The primary objective is to identify individuals who have acquired Russian citizenship but have failed to fulfill their obligation to register with the military enlistment office.
Similar raids have been carried out at Wildberries warehouses in the Moscow region, as well as in restaurants and mosques. Migrants who responded to the summonses and presented themselves at the military enlistment office were subsequently directed to military service.
