The key feature of this vest is its hydrogel electrodes, which combine MXene nanosheets with holey-reduced graphene oxide and ionic liquids. These electrodes enhance sensitivity to fish movements and ensure durability in aquatic environments, overcoming previous limitations in underwater research tools.
By detecting flow field disturbances created by fish, the vest accurately records their actions such as turning, speeding up, or dipping.
