Palestinian man tragically passes away shortly after being detained by Israeli forces in the West Bank

Israeli forces in ⁣the occupied West​ Bank⁢ have transferred the‍ body of a Palestinian man to Palestinian health authorities shortly after his arrest.

The man, ⁣identified as 58-year-old Ayman Rajeh‌ Abed ‍from Kafr Dan‌ village near Jenin, ⁣showed signs of beatings and torture ‌upon examination at the ​Jenin Government Hospital.

According to⁣ the Israeli military, Abed was detained during⁣ counterterrorism operations and suffered⁢ a cardiac event ⁣upon arrival at ⁣a detention center. ⁣Medical staff from the military initially treated him before transferring him to the hospital.

While the military acknowledged the ‌reports of the suspect’s death during evacuation by ​the Red Crescent, they stated that the incident ⁤is under review.

The incident occurred amidst an Israeli military operation in Jenin and surrounding areas, now in its sixth day, involving bulldozers clearing streets and ⁤thoroughfares.

Israel initiated ⁤the operation last Wednesday, citing‌ plans by Iranian-backed groups ⁤to target civilians. ⁣The assault, involving ​hundreds ⁤of troops supported by drones and helicopters, has resulted in the deaths of​ at least⁣ 29 Palestinians, with ⁣Israel ⁢claiming they were affiliated ‍with armed ‍factions like Hamas and Islamic ‍Jihad.

Additionally, 121 people ⁣have been injured, as reported ⁣by⁢ Palestinian⁢ health authorities, with extensive damage to homes and infrastructure ‌in Jenin and‍ the nearby ⁣refugee camp.
