Israeli forces in the occupied West Bank have transferred the body of a Palestinian man to Palestinian health authorities shortly after his arrest.
The man, identified as 58-year-old Ayman Rajeh Abed from Kafr Dan village near Jenin, showed signs of beatings and torture upon examination at the Jenin Government Hospital.
According to the Israeli military, Abed was detained during counterterrorism operations and suffered a cardiac event upon arrival at a detention center. Medical staff from the military initially treated him before transferring him to the hospital.
While the military acknowledged the reports of the suspect’s death during evacuation by the Red Crescent, they stated that the incident is under review.

The incident occurred amidst an Israeli military operation in Jenin and surrounding areas, now in its sixth day, involving bulldozers clearing streets and thoroughfares.
Israel initiated the operation last Wednesday, citing plans by Iranian-backed groups to target civilians. The assault, involving hundreds of troops supported by drones and helicopters, has resulted in the deaths of at least 29 Palestinians, with Israel claiming they were affiliated with armed factions like Hamas and Islamic Jihad.
Additionally, 121 people have been injured, as reported by Palestinian health authorities, with extensive damage to homes and infrastructure in Jenin and the nearby refugee camp.
