New Wholesale Club Chain Set to Expand into Southeast Region, Challenging BJ’s, Costco, and Sam’s

BJ’s Wholesale Club is⁢ expanding its presence ‍in the United States by opening ‍new stores in the Southeast and Midwest. The company ‍plans to open four new clubs⁣ in the Southeast and one in⁤ the Midwest ⁢this year, with additional stores planned for the future. This expansion is ‌part of BJ’s efforts to compete in the membership warehouse market and attract new members across the country.

The new stores will be ⁣located in‌ Maryville, Tennessee; Myrtle Beach,‌ South Carolina; Palm Coast and West Palm Beach, Florida; and Carmel, Indiana. BJ’s also plans to⁤ open a dozen new clubs this fiscal year, including a previously announced location in Louisville, Kentucky.

BJ’s​ Wholesale ‌Club is facing competition from other warehouse clubs,‍ such⁤ as ⁢Costco and Sam’s Club, both of ⁢which have also announced ‌plans for expansion. Sam’s​ Club, for example, has stated⁢ that it will open more than 30 stores in ⁢the U.S. over the next five years, while Costco expects to open 30 new ​clubs globally in its fiscal year.
