Mother’s Day Google Doodle Celebrates Mom’s Nurturing Hand

Sunday is Mother’s Day within the US, the day we thank Mom for all she does us.

To honor that particular particular person in our lives, Google has a present for all of the moms in our lives — a card tucked into an animated Doodle. The slideshow focuses on the nurturing arms of that particular particular person as she guides us by means of our early days, instructing us precious abilities and serving to us develop, all by means of the heat and safety of her ever-present arms.

Mother’s Day as we all know it at this time was first celebrated in 1908, when Anna Jarvis held a memorial for her mom Ann, a peace activist who cared for wounded troopers on either side of the Civil War. Through Anna Jarvis’ efforts to have the day formally acknowledged as a vacation, President Woodrow Wilson signed a proclamation six years later designating the second Sunday in May as a nationwide vacation to honor moms.

Happy Mother’s Day and thanks for all you do, Mom.
