Massive Demonstrations in Germany Rally Against Far-Right Extremism

Thousands of individuals‍ have ‌united throughout Germany to demonstrate against a far-right political party‍ and its anti-migrant stance.

On Saturday, people protested ⁣in various cities⁤ and small towns, using signs to mock the Alternative for Germany (AfD) party with messages like “Facism is ⁤not an alternative”, as reported by German media.

The protests were sparked by⁣ outrage over ‌revelations that AfD members had met with far-right activists to ‌discuss‍ mass deportation plans for foreigners.

Under the‌ banner ⁢“Defend‍ democracy – Frankfurt against⁤ the AfD”, approximately 35,000‌ people marched in Germany’s financial hub, according to police.

In the northern city of Hanover, a similar number of protesters,‌ some carrying posters reading “Nazis ⁤out”, made their voices ⁣heard.

Additional demonstrations took place in cities such as Braunschweig, Erfurt, ‌and Kassel, as well as numerous smaller towns,⁤ reflecting widespread ⁣mobilization over the past week. In Hamburg,‍ Germany’s second-largest city, around 50,000 people demonstrated on Friday, according to police.
