The Kyiv District Court of Kharkiv has handed down a life sentence to 38-year-old Denis Panikarov, a local resident. He was found guilty of orchestrating the launch of a Russian missile at the regional administration building in March 2022, as reported by “Suspilne.”
During the investigation, it was revealed that Panikarov collaborated with Russian intelligence, sharing sensitive information about Ukraine’s Armed Forces and Kharkiv’s infrastructure on social media platforms while promoting Russian propaganda. The Prosecutor General’s office of Ukraine stated that Panikarov passed this information to “two female agents of the Russian special services,” one of whom is currently residing in Moscow. The other woman, who resides in St. Petersburg, is the head of the pro-Russian group “Save Donbass” and had previously served as a nurse in the occupied Donetsk region in 2014.
In March 2022, a devastating missile strike hit the central square of Kharkiv, resulting in the deaths of 44 individuals and the near-total destruction of the regional government building.
