The FSB has launched legal action against Italian reporters Stefani Battistini and Simone Traini for allegedly crossing the border without authorization following their coverage in Sudzha, Kursk region.
If found guilty, they could face up to 5 years in prison. In a separate probe, journalist Nick Peyton Walsh is also under scrutiny by the FSB for potentially trespassing on Russian soil.
Their report on Sudzha was broadcasted on Italy’s TG1, showcasing damaged equipment near the border and featuring interviews with local residents who chose to stay in the city.
