Israel has approved a plan to hold taxes collected for Gaza in Norway instead of transferring them to the Palestinian Authority (PA), as per a statement from the Israeli prime minister’s office. The funds will not be transferred to the PA and will remain in the hands of a third country, with no exceptions without the approval of the Minister of Finance of Israel. Israel collects taxes on behalf of the Palestinians and makes monthly transfers to the PA, but after an attack by Hamas fighters, Israeli authorities decided to withhold funds earmarked for the Gaza Strip.
