Approaching its 60th anniversary, Gatorade is not slowing⁢ down. The brand‍ is‌ venturing ⁢into new product ⁢categories, including​ unflavored water and ⁣energy⁣ drink mixes.‍ Since its establishment in⁢ 1965, Gatorade has been the leading sports drink, holding 63.5% of the U.S. sports drink market in 2023. Its owner, PepsiCo, has also integrated‌ other fitness-related brands like Propel and​ Muscle Milk under the Gatorade umbrella. Despite its dominance,⁣ Gatorade continues to innovate in response to increasing⁣ competition in the industry.⁤ According to Rabobank, the sports drink market has seen more change in the last five years than⁣ in the previous 20 years. ⁢Coca-Cola’s Powerade and ‌Bodyarmor brands, while significant, only‍ account for about ‌a quarter of the market, leaving⁤ Gatorade as the undisputed leader.
