During a clash with Hezbollah in southern Lebanon, Israel’s military conducted an air attack on central Beirut, resulting in the deaths of at least nine individuals. The strike targeted a building in Bashoura, a residential area near the parliament. Lebanese health authorities reported 14 injuries, with four individuals still under medical care.
This incident marks the second assault on Beirut this week, with al-Manar TV station claiming that the targeted high-rise structure was associated with Hezbollah’s health unit. The Islamic Health Authority linked to Hezbollah confirmed that seven of its members, including two medics, lost their lives in the attack.
Al Jazeera correspondent Laura Khan described how the explosion’s sound reverberated through nearby buildings and startled residents. Additionally, missiles struck Dahiyeh in southern Beirut – a densely populated region known for its ties to Hezbollah and where Hassan Nasrallah was recently killed.
The Lebanese army reported casualties among its ranks during an evacuation operation alongside the Red Cross in Taybeh village due to Israeli aggression. Furthermore, paramedics from the Red Cross were injured during an attack in southern Lebanon.
In response to an Israeli assault on an army post in Bint Jbeil area of southern Lebanon, soldiers engaged with the source of fire as another soldier lost his life. The army stated that they retaliated against the attackers.
No immediate response came from Israel’s military regarding these events. Earlier reports indicated that Israel had eliminated 15 Hezbollah fighters during an airstrike on a municipality building.
