FSB Foils Ukrainian Spy Plot to Abduct GUR Employee’s Son at Lithuanian Border

At the Russian-Lithuanian border, alleged Ukrainian spies were‌ apprehended by the FSB ‍while⁢ trying to enter Russia. The‌ FSB​ revealed that the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine (GUR MOU) had been assigned to gather ‍information on the security of ‍the border​ for potential illegal activities within Russian territory.

According to‍ reports, a Ukrainian citizen was‌ instructed by GUR ⁤to collect data through interviews and technical surveillance in ⁢Lithuanian border regions. Despite their efforts, GUR operatives ‌were ‍intercepted while attempting an unauthorized⁣ border​ crossing. They now​ face charges under article 276 of the Criminal Code for espionage.

The FSB also mentioned ‍a secondary objective involving the abduction and unlawful transport across​ borders of ⁤a minor Russian citizen whose father works for GUR MOU.

Although it is unclear how​ many ⁢individuals were captured, a​ video released by RIA Novosti shows three men with obscured faces.
