A group of ex-employees who claim they were terminated from Bowlero due to age discrimination or retaliation are preparing to take legal action against the bowling chain. This comes after the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission concluded its investigation into the company, as stated by the attorney representing the employees on Monday.
Bowlero, known as the largest owner and operator of bowling centers globally, has been under scrutiny by the EEOC since 2016. Over 70 former employees have alleged that they were wrongfully dismissed, according to disclosures made by the company in financial filings.
The employees contended that Bowlero let them go because of their age, as the company aimed to revamp its numerous locations from traditional bowling alleys to more upscale venues with enhanced food and beverage options, as reported by CNBC. Bowlero has refuted these allegations.
