As Sierra Space gears up for the inaugural flight of its spaceplane and a potential IPO next year, the company is broadening its satellite portfolio.
In anticipation of the upcoming solar eclipse, the innovative commercial space company has introduced its new Eclipse line of satellite buses, designed to support a variety of missions in orbits ranging from low Earth to cis-lunar space.
“After six months of anticipation, we are thrilled to unveil the Eclipse line. The name was carefully chosen,” remarked Tom Vice, CEO of Sierra Space, in an exclusive interview for CNBC’s “Manifest Space” podcast. “This new line has the potential to revolutionize satellite construction and affordability for future missions.”
With a valuation of $5.3 billion as of September, Sierra Space emerged as a standalone entity from defense contractor Sierra Nevada Corporation three years ago….
