Latest update: 21:34 MSK. An official from EA responded to IGN, dismissing the rumor as unfounded.
Breaking news. Electronic Arts had plans for a Dead Space 2 remake, but the project has been halted. This revelation comes from journalist Jeff Grubb.
During the Game Mess Mornings podcast, Grubb revealed that EA paused the remake due to disappointing sales of the first installment. While the game is not canceled, it is currently not a top priority for the company.
Recent reports indicate that the “electronic” giant has assigned Motive studio, known for Dead Space (2023), to handle the Battlefield series. A dedicated team at the studio will focus on BF, while others will be working on an Iron Man action game.
It’s worth noting that our review of the updated “Dead Space” received a “Great” rating — Dmitriy Burdukov praised the blend of classic elements with fresh innovations:
“Oh, if only we could wipe our memories to relive the experience anew,” we wistfully muse. The remake offers a unique approach by combining nostalgia with exciting new elements. It strikes a perfect balance, appealing to both old-school horror enthusiasts and modern gamers alike. Whether you seek thrills or prefer a classic touch, this game caters to all.”
