Delta Air Lines revealed that‍ the⁣ recent CrowdStrike outage ​led ‍to significant financial losses, totaling⁤ around $550 million. The airline is actively seeking compensation from CrowdStrike and ⁣Microsoft for the damages‍ incurred.

This financial impact includes⁢ a $380 million decrease in revenue for the current quarter, ⁢mainly due to⁤ refunds issued to customers ​for canceled ‍flights and compensation​ provided⁤ in cash and ⁤SkyMiles. Additionally, there was a‍ $170 million expense related to the outage and subsequent recovery efforts,⁢ along with an‍ estimated $50⁣ million reduction in fuel costs due to the grounded flights.
