Leading software company Lucra Sports recently announced a collaboration with the renowned entertainment chain to enable customers to place bets on their favorite arcade games using the innovative Dave & Buster’s app.
Despite the buzz surrounding this new feature, some lawmakers are expressing concerns.
Illinois State Rep. Daniel Didech, a prominent Democrat from Buffalo Grove, took action by introducing a bill on Thursday. The bill aims to prevent family amusement establishments from facilitating betting on arcade games and proposes amendments to the Illinois Criminal Code to criminalize such activities. With bipartisan support and the backing of over two dozen state lawmakers, Rep. Didech is determined to uphold the integrity of family-friendly entertainment venues.
“It is crucial to maintain the family-friendly atmosphere of arcades by avoiding unregulated gambling on their premises. These establishments should focus on providing a safe and enjoyable experience for all visitors,” stated Rep. Didech.
