Honeywell International has reached a deal worth approximately $5 billion to acquire Carrier Global’s security business, as the industrial giant embarks on a spending spree to strengthen its portfolio.
The security business specializes in producing electronic locks for large corporations, hotels, and hospital chains. This acquisition aims to enhance Honeywell’s Building Automation segment, which serves customers such as hospitals, airports, and data centers. It is part of the Charlotte, N.C.-based company’s efforts to meet the growing demand for cloud-based products.
