Breaking News: Lukashenko Grants Freedom to 30 Political Prisoners with New Decree

President Alexander⁤ Lukashenko of Belarus⁤ has recently signed a decree granting clemency to 30 individuals who ​were previously convicted. Reports from local media outlets such ‍as BelTA and ‌PUL N3 indicate that some of those pardoned are political prisoners.

The list of individuals granted⁢ clemency includes 14 women and 16 men, with some of them suffering from serious illnesses and ⁢others being elderly. Their identities have not been⁢ revealed.

According‍ to ‍a statement from Lukashenko’s press office, all those pardoned have acknowledged their ⁣wrongdoing, expressed genuine⁤ remorse for‍ their actions, and committed to living law-abiding lives ‍moving forward.

In ‌a separate‌ incident in⁣ late July, Lukashenko also granted clemency‍ to Rico Krieger, a German citizen and employee ⁢of the German Red Cross who had been sentenced to death‌ by a Minsk court for ⁣his alleged involvement in an explosion at a railway station. ⁢Krieger was the sole Belarusian prisoner released on August 1 as part of a broader exchange between Russia and Western countries.
