Boeing’s Starliner Successfully Overcomes Last-Minute Hurdles to Successfully Dock with the ISS


Boeing’s Starliner successfully connected with the International Space Station ⁢(ISS) after encountering some unexpected⁣ issues. The initial attempt was delayed due to malfunctioning thrusters, but the spacecraft finally docked at 1:34 PM ET. Astronauts Barry “Butch” Wilmore and Sunita “Suni” Williams​ are now set to ‌spend the next eight days aboard the ISS before⁤ heading back ​to Earth.

The ‌docking took place in orbit approximately 260 miles above the ‍Indian Ocean, with the duo​ now orbiting the planet at a speed of ‌around 17,500 mph.

“It’s a great feeling to be linked up with the magnificent city in the sky,” Wilmore communicated to mission control in Houston following the successful docking.‌ The capsule is carrying ​760 pounds of cargo, including 300 pounds of food and supplies requested by the‍ seven ​crew members onboard.
