NASA has just announced ‍that Boeing’s Starliner ⁤capsule “Calypso” will have an extended stay at the International Space Station, doubling the duration of the original mission.

This groundbreaking mission, known as Boeing’s crew flight test, showcases a series of tests being conducted​ by Boeing and NASA on Starliner‌ while it is connected to the ISS. This mission ‌marks the inaugural crewed⁣ flight for Starliner, with Butch Wilmore and ⁤Suni Williams scheduled to pilot the spacecraft​ back to ⁣Earth next week.

Initially planned​ for a ⁢nine-day ‌space journey starting on​ June 5, Calypso’s mission is now set to return to Earth on​ June 22. The spacecraft will depart from the ISS at 11:42 p.m. ET on June 21 and touch down approximately‍ six and a half hours later, at 6:26 a.m. ET.
