NASA has just announced that Boeing’s Starliner capsule “Calypso” will have an extended stay at the International Space Station, doubling the duration of the original mission.
This groundbreaking mission, known as Boeing’s crew flight test, showcases a series of tests being conducted by Boeing and NASA on Starliner while it is connected to the ISS. This mission marks the inaugural crewed flight for Starliner, with Butch Wilmore and Suni Williams scheduled to pilot the spacecraft back to Earth next week.
Initially planned for a nine-day space journey starting on June 5, Calypso’s mission is now set to return to Earth on June 22. The spacecraft will depart from the ISS at 11:42 p.m. ET on June 21 and touch down approximately six and a half hours later, at 6:26 a.m. ET.
