Blizzard Cracks Down on Cheaters in Overwatch 2 for Consoles


Overwatch 2, like many other multiplayer ⁤games,⁤ faces the challenge of cheaters ​disrupting the gaming experience. Cheating is not limited to PC players using aimbots; some players on consoles ‍use XIM devices to gain ⁤an unfair advantage by playing with a keyboard‍ and mouse (KBM). ⁢This ‍goes against Blizzard’s rules, as KBM players typically have better aim compared ⁤to‍ controller users, despite features like ⁢aim assist ‍on consoles. After some‍ delay, the developer⁢ is now taking action ‍to address the issue of XIM cheating.

XIM devices deceive consoles into thinking⁤ KBM users are using a controller. Blizzard recently announced that they have⁢ been able to identify KBM players on consoles during​ the⁢ past few Overwatch ​2 seasons.
