Isolating at his beach house in Delaware after testing positive for COVID-19, the 81-year-old took a swipe at rival Donald Trump, who recently concluded the Republican National Convention, through a series of online posts on Friday. Biden declared his intention to resume campaigning next week.
Describing Trump’s vision for the future as not representative of American values, Biden emphasized unity within the party and the nation to overcome the current administration at the ballot box. He expressed confidence in victory, stating, “The stakes are high, and the choice is clear. Together, we will win.”

Despite the support he has, twelve more Democratic officials, including senators and members of Congress, have urged President Biden to step down.
Senator Sherrod Brown of Ohio, facing a challenging re-election campaign, echoed the sentiments of many Ohioans calling for Biden to end his candidacy.
Senator Martin Heinrich of New Mexico, also up for re-election, joined the call for Biden to exit the race, suggesting that passing the torch would solidify his legacy and unite the party behind a candidate capable of defeating Trump.
Reports indicate that prominent Democrats like Chuck Schumer, Hakeem Jeffries, and Nancy Pelosi have privately urged Biden to withdraw.
Dismissing the calls for resignation, Biden’s campaign chair Jen O’Malley Dillon affirmed his determination to continue, labeling him as the best candidate to challenge Trump.
