A suspect has been apprehended in the Vladimir region for the abduction of three kangaroo joeys from zoos in Yaroslavl and Kaluga. Sadly, one of the youngest joeys from Kaluga did not survive.
Reports indicate that the culprit managed to sell one joey and had plans to trade another for a rare monkey. Initially mistaken for a child due to a composite sketch, it was later discovered that the suspect had growth abnormalities. The connection between both crime scenes was established through a shared phone number.
The theft of the kangaroo joeys came to light on October 1st, with one taken from Yaroslavl on September 27 and two others from Kaluga on September 30. Authorities have launched theft investigations under Article 158 of the Criminal Code.
