Apple’s Vision Pro Spatial Computing Headset Production Slowed Down by Low Demand, Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo Reveals – US Launch Earlier This Year

Reports suggest that Apple has scaled back production ⁣of the Vision Pro due to lower demand for the⁤ $3,500 mixed reality headset, as indicated by Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo from TF International Securities.

Despite initial‍ market‌ expectations‍ of 700,000⁢ to 800,000 units sold, Apple⁤ has⁣ reduced shipments to a ⁣range of 400,000‍ to 500,000 units for the year,‌ according to Kuo’s⁢ recent blog ⁢post.

Kuo mentioned that Apple made these adjustments in anticipation of an international launch⁢ for the device.

Following a⁢ decline in demand in the US, ‍Kuo previously estimated that around 160,000⁢ to 180,000‍ units were sold in preorders before the February launch. However, ‌interest dwindled⁤ post-launch, leading Apple to take a cautious approach ⁣to demand outside ⁤the US.

Apple is now projecting a decrease in Vision Pro shipments for 2025, prompting a review of ‌its product roadmap. Plans for a second Vision Pro‍ in 2025 have been ⁢put⁤ on hold.

More details on⁤ this situation‍ may be revealed when Apple releases its Q2 financial results next Thursday.
