(Bloomberg) — Apple Inc. has been cleared of the most serious accusations in a well-known case involving terminated retail employees, although concerns about worker treatment remain.

Five employees at the Kansas City, Missouri store were fired last year for various reasons, including attendance issues. The Communications Workers of America (CWA) claimed they were actually dismissed for their involvement in union activities.
The National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) initially rejected the claims last October, but the CWA appealed in November. The NLRB recently upheld the decision, stating that there was insufficient evidence to prove the terminations were related to unionization efforts.
